Fun Time in Texas

We had a wonderful time in Texas.  We were blessed with 5 wonderful weeks with family and friends.  I truly am a Texan.  There is no place like home.  While we were in town Collin did some training for work, I helped my lovely sister prepare for her wedding, and we saw a lot of family and friends.  My sister's wedding was beautiful and she was the star of the evening.  I am so happy for her and her husband.

You would think after staying at my parents' house for a month we'd all be sick of each other.  That was not the case.  We were all so sad when our time together was over.  My dad is a wonderful granddad and he and our boy already have a special bond.  My step-mother is a wonderful grandmother as well.  Thankfully we got to see many of our friends, I wish we could have seen more!  Two of our friends from Houston even drove up to see us.  Elizabeth was one of my bridesmaids and has been a good friend of mine since college.  I can't believe I've been out of college for 5 years now.  Wow!  We also saw many of our friends from church, we love our church family in Texas.  I got to go to a girls' night out, Collin and I went on a date, I bought some really cute clothes for my son, we had a great time.

We also had a lovely time in west Texas where I flew alone with my son for the first time.  Collin went ahead of us to spend a few extra days with his parents.  My flight was delayed so I ended up spending 3.5 hours at the airport before taking off.  Besides my son spilling my water all over his lap and us having to change seats the flight went well.  We had a wonderful time with my in-laws and were so happy we got to see a lot of our family and friends.

It has taken almost a week to get over jet lag.  We do not like overseas flights.  None of us can sleep on the plane.  Our son slept 1.5 hours on the way and 2 hours on the way back.  We bought him a seat so thankfully he was able to sleep in his car seat on the plane.  Once we were back home, our toddler kept waking up in the middle of the night hungry and wanting to play.  We transitioned him slowly and he is just about back to his "normal" schedule.

Here are a few pictures from our trip to the States.
